Your case won't work
on itself.
Court Cafe is a free, weekly, one-hour, virtual work session for pro se litigants.
Free. No strings.A dedicated hour.
No agenda. No instruction.
Court Cafe is a virtual body doubling work session — a structured, quiet hour on Zoom designed for people handling their own court cases.
There's no presentation, no Q&A. You come, you work on whatever your case needs, and you leave with the satisfaction of accomplishment.
Same time, every week. Open to anyone who registers. Always free.
Here's how it works

Show up

Work
Open your files and get something done. Draft that motion. Organize your evidence. Review a hearing transcript. Whatever your case needs that day.
Why working alongside others helps
You probably know this feeling: You've been meaning to work on your case for days. The documents are sitting right there. But every time you sit down, something stops you — anxiety, overwhelm, intimidation, various distractions, the weight of what you're having to do.
"Body doubling" is the simple practice of doing focused work in the presence of others — even virtually. For many people, it's the difference between getting something done and not.
Researchers have documented this effect, and it's particularly useful for people dealing with high-stress tasks.
Court Cafe applies that principle to the specific, difficult work of representing yourself in court. You don't need to talk to anyone. You just need to not be alone while you do it.
Court Cafe is for you if…
- You're handling your own court case without an attorney
- You're a domestic violence survivor navigating custody, divorce, or protective orders
- You have documents to draft but can't seem to sit down and do it
- You find it easier to work when others are working nearby
- You want a low-pressure, judgment-free space to make progress
- You can't afford private legal help but need to keep moving forward
Court Cafe is not a coaching or legal advice session and does not create any ongoing business or professional relationship. It is a productivity and community space.
